Biography


Subhi Salt is the Founder of Salt & Associates Law Firm’s. He has experience in a wide range of sectors, including banking and finance, general corporate and insurance. Subhi studied law at the University of Baghdad and admitted to the Iraqi Bar in 1972. He has been practicing law in the UAE since 1980 and currently has rights of audience before the Dubai courts in the UAE; the Supreme Courts in the Sultanate of Oman; and all courts in Iraq.

He left NBAD in 1985 to establish his private practice, where he was quickly acknowledged as one of the leading attorneys in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Recent Deals/Experience


Prior to establishing Salt & Associates Law Firm, Subhi was employed at the National Insurance Company of Baghdad for five years before moving to the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company. From there, he moved to the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) in 1980, where he was primarily responsible for drafting a range of legal documents, including letters of credit, loan guarantees, loan agreements, syndicated loan agreements and bridge loan agreements.

In addition to his experience managing his own practice, Subhi is a registered arbitrator at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Arbitration and Conciliation Centre, and at the International Chamber of Commerce’s International Court of Arbitration.
